Confluence has contracted a slate of world-class experts to accelerate progress toward having the system installed and in service in late 2023.
Key Activities
Permits And Licenses
WSP – (formerly Ecology and Environment), with offices near each landing point from the New York area, Virginia and Washington DC to the Carolinas, Northern and Southern Florida, have been engaged to manage permitting and ecological approvals.
Morgan Lewis – DC office of the renowned law firm Morgan Lewis, well-known experts in this specialized area, have been engaged to interface with the US government and provide legal counsel.
Subcom: US supplier with extensive knowledge of the East Coast environment have been engaged in a Desktop Study, a critical factor in determining the undersea route.
Landing Stations
Confluence has options at most landing sites:
• Build a dedicated Confluence-owned landing station.
• Co-locate in an existing landing station.
• Work with a partner to develop a new landing station.
Confluence is in active discussions with several parties on these different options and is currently (June 2021) engaged with WSP and Subcom in site visits.
Sales And Marketing
The Confluence founders have collaborated in a market study for undersea systems on the East Coast to identify and quantify US and global market opportunities for Confluence-1.
AP Telecom – a global fiber optic system sales specialist, has been engaged to aid the Confluence global dark fiber, spectrum, and capacity sales effort.
